Based on the importance of continuous improvement in the Indonesian universities, The Study Program of Higher Education Management, Universitas Gadjah Mada conducts external benchmarking process activities by studying, observing and adapting other university good practices to be applicable in Higher Education Management course. External benchmarking activities include academic visiting to Chulalongkorn University Thailand, Mahidol University Thailand, ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA), and The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).
Objectives
The objectives of “BENCHMARKING FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM OF ASEAN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM” are:
1. to encourage the creation of a culture of continuous improvement for the study program of Higher Education Management, Universitas Gadjah Mada;
2. improve quality in order to meet the needs of stakeholders;
3. encourage the study program of Higher Education Management, Universitas Gadjah Mada to look deeply into processes in our competitors or similar competitors, which may have been implemented better and proven to deliver better quality of outcomes.
4. help to get “shortcuts” to achieve goals, by imitating so many things can be saved, among others we can further shorten the learning process, reduce the possibility of failure because of bias learning from the failure of others.
Performance Indicator
ü Increase students’ awareness of the AUN QA role in developing platform of Quality Assurance System in ASEAN;
ü Increase students’ understanding and experience in HEI system in the context of thailand;
ü Analysis result document about quality assurance system of ASEAN Higher Educational Institution.
